Prevention, they say, is better than cure. We totally agree. Dental Trends offers a range of preventive dental care services that keep your teeth protected from harm. We go the extra mile to ascertain that once your dental conditions are treated, you should be able to maintain the dentition in a pristine, healthy condition.
Oral Hygiene Training
What is the point in doing elaborate dental treatment if the disease is going to recur again? Most of the times, dental diseases are caused by the build-up of harmful bacteria that are allowed to grow unchecked. At Dental Trends, we do a 30 minute long Oral Hygiene Session, in which we dispense instructions for oral hygiene techniques that are specifically chosen for you. The session typically teaches you the method of toothbrushing that is suited for your mouth; interdental cleaning techniques like dental floss, interdental toothbrush etc.; and tongue cleaning. We also keep an eye on how effectively you are following our instructions in your next appointments.
Regular Follow-Up
The mouth is full of bacteria, at all times. Hence, after a few months, in spite of regular tooth brushing, there would be accumulation of plaque and tartar. At Dental Trends, we enroll you in a follow-up cycle of 3, 6 or 12 months as per your oral condition and according to the effectiveness of your oral hygiene maintenance. You will receive an SMS when your follow-up with us is due. So you don’t have to remember any dates. Convenient, isn’t it?
Fluoride Therapy
Fluoride is often considered as the wonder molecule. It was one of the first agents that effectively prevented dental cavities in a reliable way, by strengthening and smoothening tooth enamel. One of the most successful methods of fluoridation is application of fluoride varnish. This is a single sitting, 45 minutes procedure that offers you protection from dental cavities and decay for a period of 6 months. It can be applied only by a dentist, as the fluoride concentration is very high. At Dental Trends, we weigh the necessity of application of dental varnish. If your Caries Index – an indication of susceptibility to cavities – is high, we recommend the procedure to you.
Pit & Fissure Sealants
The small grooves that we can see or feel on our back teeth can harbor a lot of bacteria that may then cause cavities. At times, these grooves may be unusually deep. In such situations, we may advise you to get the grooves filled with a free flowing material called Pit and Fissure Sealant, that blocks these grooves and prevents any food from lodging inside. This way, you remain protected from cavities.
